5 Sites and Attractions to Visit in Port Angeles

There is no place like Port Angeles, Washington, a beautiful city made up of arts and culture, magnificent marine life, and a wonderful nightlife downtown atmosphere. Port Angeles was named one of the top 100 best small towns in 2015 by Livability.com, and it's no surprise. The town has a rich history that draws in thousands of tourists each year to explore all its offerings and marine life experiences. Local menus list crab and Thai Cuisines as some of their most popular, and there's endless options for just about any burger or sandwich you desire.


There's a lot to this town, and several interesting sites to visit while in Port Angeles.

Port Angeles Fine Arts Center & Webster's Woods
Set against a breathtaking view of marine life and mountains, Webster's Woods is essentially a five-acre museum without walls. It features more than 125 pieces and works along the trails. It's open year round and even better, it's free.

Heritage Tours
The city is steeped in history and as a result, it deserves a historic tour to teach residents and tourists all about its rich history. In the 1990s, many of the older buildings in the downtown area were lost , until they were recently discovered and are currently undergoing renovation to restore the original structures. The Heritage Tours takes guests underground to explore what used to be, including the discovery of one of the brothels and a link into the dark side of the town.

Port Angeles Whale Watching Company
Like marine life? What about whales? There's a company out in Port Angeles that takes guests out on a guaranteed sighting of whales from May through November. The company is committed to educating, researching and preserving wildlife and marine wildlife.

Washington Lavender Farm
Located on the George Washington Inn & Estate, where you can stay at a bed and breakfast near the Olympic National Park, this lavender farm is home of "Martha's Own" and "By George" lavender products. The farm is 10 acres of pure oceanfront farmland overlooking breathtaking views.
